The global law firm of K&L Gates LLP seeks a Contract Administrator Paralegal for its Portland office. This position will divide its time between our office in downtown Portland and our client's office in Beaverton, Oregon.

This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating the internal commercial contracting process for our Client. Candidates should have strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with Legal and Compliance to prepare contracts that reduce corporate liability and minimize the risk of contractual breaches. The position will serve as the first point of contact for intake and routing of legal and compliance requests from other internal business units and stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:
• Coordinate all phases of service contract administration
• Manage the contract request intake process
• Collaborate with Legal and Compliance on appropriate form selection
• Gather facts and information necessary to the contracting and negotiation process
• Review exceptions to contracts with Legal and Compliance, and obtain approval as necessary
• Validate contract activity data, including but not limited to insurance validation, contract terms and maintain contract data
• Maintain full supported and retrievable contract files
• Report status of current contract processes to Legal and Compliance
• Serve as a liaison between internal and external parties during contract development and negotiation stages, as appropriate
• Coordinate with Legal to analyze risks that contract changes may pose to the organization
• Manage Records and ensure that all executed documents are managed per Client Records Management procedures
• Assist in finding resolutions to contracting problems to support customer needs
• Coordinate with Legal and Compliance to ensure contract comport to all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies and procedures
• Provide periodic and ad hoc reports as requested

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in commercial, sales, or vendor contracting or experience negotiating (in the healthcare industry is a plus)
• Possess an undergraduate degree
• Knowledgeable in legal and ethical rules and local, state and federal regulations regarding contracts
• Demonstrated ability to function successfully in a highly regulated environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate business situations clearly and accurately, and to address and resolve issues by communicating difficult information tactfully and diplomatically
• Ability to work with all levels in the organization and with customers and to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders with diverse interpersonal styles and priorities
• Demonstrated Business acumen; understanding of the health care marketplace, the competitive position of Client’s products, and the process by which patients gain access to those products
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities and make decisions in an ambiguous and complex environment
• Ability to research and analyze issues, and proactively identify options to resolve problems quickly and compliantly
• Organized, detailed oriented, hard-working and customer service focused individual.
• The ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and be able to interface effectively with clients, attorneys and other professionals is required
• Ability to travel to client site
