The e-DAT Team Lead is responsible for the daily coordination and management of e-DAT team projects, workflow and staff as well as project management of e-DAT Practice Group initiatives. The e-DAT Team Lead administers and maintains production software systems, providing information and guidance about the capabilities and proper use of such systems in daily operational and troubleshooting scenarios. The e-DAT Team Lead provides specialized knowledge and expertise in multiple technologies and litigation support software applications utilized within the e-DAT production environment. This position is directed by the Practice Support Manager and the Director of Practice Support. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are strongly preferred. e-DAT Practice Support Manager, Director of Practice Support, e-DAT Practice Administrator, e-DAT Leadership Team, Partners, Staff Lawyers, and Review Lawyers
• Coordinate work flow, project assignments and work schedules of designated team. Provide comprehensive project feedback and secure resources needed to meet team goals.
• Responsible for performance management, coaching, development, and evaluation of designated team. Provide input on staffing needs and identify resources regarding same.
• Monitor designated team’s adherence to firm policies and best practices, assisting with corrections as necessary.
• Provide and/or coordinate training for designated team as needed to support growth of the e-DAT Practice Group.
• Communicate weekly with designated e-DAT team and the Practice Support Manager regarding workflow, any issues and proposed solutions. Frequent communication – often many times a day – of project status.
• Provide daily operational support and administration of Ringtail, Nuix, LAW preDiscovery, and Case Notebook software as well as internally developed applications and SQL scripts.
• Assist end users with navigating and understanding purpose of these systems, including how to best leverage the technology to assist case teams. Attend training on such applications and other appropriate technology as directed.
• When necessary, perform e-DAT Analyst tasks related to these systems such as data processing, importing, searching, production and general litigation support.
• Verify data integrity and apply quality control checks when performing data imports and exports, document productions and database reports or logs. Troubleshoot database and/or data problems and work with technical staff to resolve.
• Function as a subject matter expert capable of detailing e-DAT litigation technology best practices and as a technical resource for practice group initiatives and provide suggestions for continued improvement of litigation technology.
• Maintain detailed records of workflow processes, data and e-DAT projects to foster a shared knowledge base between practice group teams and Firmwide departments.
• Research and identify technologies that will improve and enhance e-DAT business goals. Work directly with Information Technology teams to support approved projects including establishment of comprehensive communication and testing plans, and task assignment to ensure completion of identified projects.
• Assist with other relevant projects as needed and/or assigned.
• Provide assistance with planning, design, development and deployment of Practice Group initiatives.
• Participate in practice group meetings, CLEs, HR trainings, firmwide town halls and encourage designated team members to participate in same.
• Provide one-on-one litigation technology end user support and assistance for routine questions.
• May train other support staff and users and assist with the preparation and presentation of training materials.
• Interface with outside service providers and vendors for service issues or to gather information, quotations or data.
• B.A. or B.S. degree.
• Advanced computer and database technology skills required; litigation support experience required.
• Must demonstrate analytical knowledge and creativity to improve the use of legal technology and the e-discovery process.
• Must be able to multi-task and respond to tight deadlines while supporting a multi-office, multi-time zone user group.
• Advanced understanding of data analytics and review workflow
• Must be team-oriented and able to share information, goals and opportunities
