K&L Gates has a contract position for a Systems Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA.  The Systems Engineer is responsible for assisting with an ongoing Exchange migration and may assist with other day to day Messaging Infrastructure maintenance tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform a documented mailbox migration process from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2016
• Perform Enterprise Vault migrations to Exchange Native Archiving

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure existing and new documentation is constantly updated with current processes and procedures to maintain the infrastructure environment
• Work with the various Technical Services groups to ensure the process provided continues to perform as expected
• Work with Technical Services team to troubleshoot issues when the migration process fails
• Ensure that systems achieve 100% uptime 24/7/365 operational availability
• Maintaining documentation of processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and change management logs
• Flexible to work outside normal business hours as required
• Provide third level support to the Global Service Desk and Desk side Support

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Experience
• 3 - 5 years of Messaging Systems support related experience, previous law firm experience desired
• Minimum of 3-5 years of engineering and administrative knowledge with Exchange 2010/2016

Education
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred

• Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
• Microsoft Exchange 2010/2016
• Enterprise Vault/Exchage Native Archiving
• Exchange Mailbox Management
• Email Routing
• TLS Encryption
• Cisco ESA/SMA
• AD, GPO, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Account Management
• Scripting Languages such as VBScripts, Powershell, or Batch Files
• Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Incuding Registry and File Management

Abilities
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact with diverse personalities
• Good judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of complicated tasks and leading/directing the work of others
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills in order to meet required deadlines in a fast paced work environment
