We are seeking a Market Development Coordinator to join the Charlotte office. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the execution of marketing and business development programs and initiatives to support specific office(s) and/or related practice groups, with a focus on events and communications. This role will be involved in supporting business development representatives on key revenue-generating activities and will help implement events regionally and nationally. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are strongly preferred.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Business Development team members, Central Marketing team members, lawyers, members of Shared Services and legal secretaries

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Assist with full production of client/prospect facing events that are focused on strategic initiatives e.g., proprietary programs, symposiums, conferences, and CLE presentations; roundtables; annual client appreciation events; marque industry conference receptions; complex client entertainment, including:
• Coordination and execution of full event logistics
• Track budget and coordinate event deliverables such as name badges, signage, CLE forms and giveaways;
• Conduct venue and vendor research
• Draft and send e-communications
• Assist with coordination of and communication with outside speakers
• Day-of lead for in-person events and host, or co-host, of virtual events
• Coordinate with allied professionals (e.g., IT, office staff, practice assistance) for support needs
• Lead pre-event attendee research for appropriate events
• Lead post event attendee/client research and reporting
• Support large-scale nationwide and global practice sponsored events
• Production of approval forms, recurring Event Center of Excellence reports, and ROI tracking

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

EXPERIENCE SKILLS REQUIRED
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a professional services organization or equivalent corporate environment
• Undergraduate degree required, with a focus in marketing, communications, or related area preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience using CRM systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of a team with a positive, can-do attitude
• Ability to follow directions, multi-task, and work quickly within a framework where priorities often shift and/or conflict
• High level of attention to detail and meticulous follow-through
• Effectively manage and communicate confidential issues

ADDITIONAL ABILITIES REQUIRED
• Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to workload demands or planned events, including occasional off-site events
• This job operates in an office setting and is largely sedentary, requiring the routine use of a computer and other standard office equipment. 
• The ability to open file cabinets, lift files, bend, and stand on a stool may also be required.
