The global law firm of K&L Gates LLP is seeking an Application Support Analyst I (Financial Systems) to join its Pittsburgh office.  As a member of the Financial Systems Application Support Team, the Application Support Analyst I is responsible for delivering Tier I technical support to all internal clients. The Application Support Analyst also provides administration for a variety of financial applications.  A qualified candidate will possess problem solving and technical skills in order to respond to client’s issues and inquiries.  The candidate must have knowledge of system administration and maintenance.  It is critical that this individual demonstrate strong customer service and customer orientation.  Being able to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our stakeholders by building trusting relationships is imperative.

Essential Duties:

  • Act as initial point of contact on any correspondence from internal clients regarding any financial application issues and questions
  • Provide level I support for identified financial applications, ensuring a quicker resolution for the customer or proper escalation of issues to the appropriate level II support/engineer
  • Must have strong analytical skills to evaluate ticket queue to determine importance and priority of tickets to help the customers in the proper order
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and IT Staff
  • Determine root cause of issues through identifying, analyzing and implementing appropriate solutions
  • Ability to follow process, procedure, and policy as defined by the firm for the support of assigned applications and system
  • Document and update internal processes
  • Catalog and document all correspondence internally and externally used to resolve incidents and requests in a service management system
  • Create new and edit existing knowledge articles in service management system
  • Continually evaluate opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness when resolving issues
  • Perform entry level financial applications administration

Additional Duties:

  • Serve in an on call rotation (which may include weekends and holidays)
  • Provide QA and end user testing of critical business functions and applications in support of level 2 Application Support Analyst and engineering
  • Perform application testing prior to rollouts
  • Internal projects as assigned
  • Must be able to self-learn and troubleshoot applications and issues with limited supervision or additional support
  • Ability to learn PowerShell scripting or like scripting language, SQL and execution
  • Ability to work on/with a team where other members may be in different offices and/or time zones


Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent education/experience to provide the necessary skills to perform primary responsibilities
  • Prior experience working for a professional services organization using Service Management tools
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, Citrix, document management systems, Microsoft System Center, and Microsoft Active Directory
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, balance multiple priorities and handle interruptions while maintaining flexibility in work assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact with diverse personalities while maintaining a professional attitude
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of resiliency
  • Preferred: Basic understanding of accounting concepts for financial experience
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Elite Enterprise, Elite 3E or other legal ERP applications
