We are seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to join any U.S. office. The Senior Pricing Analyst’s primary responsibility will be as the primary point of contact for a practice area’s pricing requests and needs, specifically developing appropriate fee solutions meeting client demands while maintaining and improving the firm’s profitability as well as providing a strategic role in the evaluation, implementation, training, and adoption of processes that support lawyers’ matter management needs. This will involve working with and developing close relationships with the lawyers and allied professional teams at the firm. This role is a part of a highly cross-functional team working with all levels of legal and allied professionals across the firm. This individual will be highly involved in the annual rate setting process, focusing on practice-specific rate strategy and execution. In addition, the Senior Analyst will help prepare and run firm-wide training on legal pricing principals, matter management, and matter budgeting. This role reports to the Senior Manager of the firm’s Pricing team, as a part of the larger Matter Planning Team. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Identifying, extracting, and analyzing relevant data from multiple sources for ad-hoc analysis and presenting in a visual/easily digestible manner for specialized internal or client reporting
• Working independently with lawyers and driving conversations to understand client priorities, scope and assumptions and evaluating relevant factors/potential risks that will affect pricing and matter execution
• Create and manage bespoke resources and presentations based on specific practices or clients to increase relevancy and drive adoption
• Act as a “systems expert” related to pricing tools and solutions in order to communicate with lawyers to evaluate underlying needs, recommend the appropriate solution/combination of solutions and then facilitate training and ongoing support
• Work with lawyers to combine aspects of pricing, LPM and technology to create innovative, holistic legal solutions in response to clients’ needs that can ultimately be “productized” and leveraged to drive new business and create competitive advantages while maintaining and improving firm profitability
• Critically evaluating data, relevant assumptions and input from lawyers to advise, propose and subsequently assist in the development of alternative fee arrangements, pricing scenarios and the creation of matter budgets
• Assisting the lawyers, Pricing Team, and Legal Project Manager(s) with the ongoing monitoring and analysis of matter performance and leveraging problem-solving skills to develop creative solutions for unique or complex scenarios

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

EXPERIENCE SKILLS REQUIRED
• Significant experience developing financial models that are both extremely complex and easy to understand by end users
• Must be able to work with large volumes of data and possess advanced proficiency in Excel (i.e., formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation); additional skills related to SQL and BI reporting tools are beneficial
• Proven ability to organize, analyze and summarize large amounts of data from multiple sources to identify key performance indicators, trends and core concepts
• Proactively identifying, communicating, developing and implementing new ways to improve MPT services to the firm, and promoting opportunities for collaboration and innovation in delivering client services
• Ability to communicate with lawyers and senior management on complex topics
• Proven ability to quickly learn to use new and evolving products, tools and technologies to support the team and firm’s strategic goals
• Experience with training and developing a customized approach based on the end-user
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities in a changing and demanding environment
• Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to encourage and build positive relationships and communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with all co-workers and outside vendors
• Ability to effectively manage and communicate confidential issues
• 7 or more years within Consulting, Economics, Financial or Business Analysis
• Prior experience with training and developing training materials
• Experience in a law firm is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or Information Technology or other relevant background, plus seven or more years of experience preferably within a law or professional services firm; Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent preferred

Compensation Salary $90,500 - $135,700/ year

The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
