We are seeking a Marketing Communications Rankings Specialist to join the Pittsburgh office. The marketing communications ranking specialist is a firmwide role responsible for establishing best practices and executing the production of submissions to legal directories and rankings with the goal to enhance the firm’s profile. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are strongly preferred.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Director of marketing services, director of practice development, associate director of communications, business development managers and specialists, content marketing managers, and lawyers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Assist in the development of written submissions for Chambers USA, Legal 500 U.S., U.S. News/Best Lawyers, and other directories.
• Work closely with the content manager and business development lead to develop a narrative story to tie together the threads of each practice area submission.
• Ensure submissions are aligned with the business strategy of each practice.
• Research, with input from business development, PR colleagues, and lawyers, information about specific practice group matters and lawyer achievements.
• Work with business development colleagues and lawyers to collect client referrals.
• Manage an editorial calendar of ranking directories, surveys, and awards due dates and requirements.
• Release internal communications to business development and lawyers to alert the team of various pending submission deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with lawyers and business development on the process and status of submissions.
• Establish a database to maintain best practices and requirements for each directory.
• Create ‘Rules of the Road’ write-ups to help stakeholders create compelling submissions so that firm rankings improve.
• Responsible for managing the firm’s profile and digital presence for all rankings directories.
• Develop relationships with editors, writers, researchers, and publishers of rankings directories and serve as a liaison and advocate for the firm.
• Manage/Maintain the Global Rankings Resource Center that identifies the firm’s directory rankings and other accolades.
• Responsible for keeping rankings and recognitions information up to date on marketing collateral, in the proposal generator system, and on the website.
• Work with the PR team to ensure that press announcements are authored to communicate notable firm rankings.
• Work with content marketing managers to establish social media campaigns to publicize firm rankings.

EXPERIENCE SKILLS REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or other related field with 2 3 years’ work experience.
• Strong, effective, creative written communicator.
• Proven track record working with executives, editors, writers and researchers at publications.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, and attention to detail.
• The ability to multi task and work under pressure with changing deadlines.
• Proficient with MS Office software products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

ADDITIONAL ABILITIES REQUIRED
• Communicate and interact effectively with employees and/or other clients
• Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
• This job operates in an office setting and is largely sedentary, requiring the routine use of a computer and other standard office equipment. 
• The ability to open file cabinets, lift files, bend, and stand on a stool may also be required.
