We are seeking an experienced Labor, Employment & Workplace Safety associate to join the dynamic Raleigh office. The role includes a combination of client counseling, transactional work, and litigation of employment matters. The ideal candidate will have three to six years of (i) experience advising clients on a wide range of employment and labor issues, such as hiring, discipline, termination, discrimination, harassment, leaves of absence, retaliation, noncompetition, labor/management relations, occupational safety and health, and wage and hour matters; (ii) experience with the employment-related aspects of business transactions, including due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and drafting and reviewing employment policies and employment-related documents such as offer letters, employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, and separation agreements; and (iii) experience litigating and/or investigating labor and employment issues. Likewise, experience or interest in health care law, Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and/or affirmative action is a plus. Strong academic credentials and excellent written and oral communication skills are prerequisites. Membership on law review and/or judicial clerkship experience are preferred. Candidates must be self-starters with the ability to work individually and in teams.
