The global law firm of K&L Gates LLP is seeking a Legal Practice Assistant to provide support to our Corporate M&A practice group in the Seattle office.  

The position requires 3 to 5 years of prior legal secretarial experience and executive assistant level capacity to support the firm’s Practice Area Leader partner and two additional Corporate partners.  The Practice Assistant would be heavily involved in document preparation and project organization as required and would be responsible for database/file management, tracking deliverables, and other tasks as assigned. Assistants are responsible for providing administrative support including maintaining calendars, arranging domestic and international travel, time and expense entry, preparation of client billing, and promoting office efficiency. The Assistant will have an active role in developing business opportunities by assisting with acquiring market knowledge and the preparation of presentations for client meetings and proposals for potential engagements.


Requirements:

  • 3-5 years legal secretary experience, preferably with a large sized law or professional firm
  • Proficiency in document preparation such as editing, formatting, and production
  • Experience working with confidential information, legal documents and conducting research
  • Experience supporting attorneys with calendar and travel management
  • Superior organizational and communications skills
  • Careful attention to detail, excellent time management and problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to handle numerous projects and deliverables
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • High School diploma (or equivalent) is required; degree or certificate is preferred
