The Report Writer/Data Analyst is responsible for planning, analysis, development, testing and deployment of reports for the Firm’s business units. This role is responsible for defining requirements, developing the code to generate the reports. Develop reports utilizing the Microsoft suite of products. Experience and skills required: Compensation Salary $72,000 - $109,000 The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Key Relationships: Finance, Information Technology, Senior Administration and all firm wide business units
Essential Responsibilities
• Understanding databases and schemas and their relationships to each other
• General business acumen, including gathering requirements, assist customer in defining report details and translate the request into a final report
• • Analyse data, design and develop complex custom reports and dashboards using in-house reporting platform with little or no supervision
• Resolve data and report design issues
• Implement and maintain reports according to the common report template formats
• Function as project lead and technical liaison for business-driven requests and analysis
• Document operational procedures and processes around maintenance and support of systems for the knowledge database
• Collaborate with other technical team members to identify the best reporting platform for the requirement
• Contact the source data owners to coordinate the accurate transfer of data or data requests
Secondary Responsibilities
• Design and troubleshoot ETL packages, stored procedures, and reports
• Assist with data integration and data migration activities
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related course of study
• Advanced SQL skills
• Expertise Microsoft Office Suite including SSRS, and SSIS
• Familiarity with Finance systems
• Ability to multitask a variety of complicated requests in a fast-paced work environment
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Preferences
• SQL Service Analysis Studio (SSAS) is a plus
• Knowledge of Elite Enterprise (or 3E) is a plus
• Power BI experience
• Data modelling experience
Additional requirements • Flexibility to work beyond the typical work day as required; evenings, weekends, etc. Working remotely is acceptable in these cases.
