We are seeking a QA Lead to join the Pittsburgh office. The QA Lead is responsible for coordinating QA Testing with our QA Managed Service provider and internal resources as well as managing work assignments between the two. They will also be called upon to assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of QA policies and procedures.  The QA Lead will consult when required with internal teams for the development, documentation and implementation of test plans relating to projects and operational changes.  The resource will need to coordinate with the service desk, developers, business analysts and project managers and participate in the Change Advisory Board to ensure compliance with policies and ensure proper testing has been completed. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are strongly preferred.

• Participate in Change Management of production implementation verification and being accountable for validating system quality
• Plan, document, evaluate and track testing results to ensure system applications are free from defects
• Communicate and interact with appropriate areas on problems, changes and enhancements that may impact data, workflow and /or functionality within IT software projects or IT operational systems.
• Comply with industry standards and practices of the software development life cycle.
• Coordination of Quality Assurance offshore / onshore team efforts for the assigned initiative
• Work concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ from project to project
• Ensure that quality processes are carried out through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle
• Assist technical and functional owners in the development, maintenance, and execution of test plans and cases.
• Assist business users in defining User Acceptance Testing, test cases, test planning and execution.
• Advise stakeholders on how best to maintain test cases in a test management repository.
• Actively participate in business walk-through, inspections, reviews and user group meetings for quality assurance
• Work with business users, business analysts, developers, IT operations, project management, change management to analyze and plan various project documents and issues that come about.

• Execution of test cases will include progress reporting, defect tracking and risk assessment.
• Ability to test both performance/load and security tests

• Outstanding communications, test case writing, interpersonal skills are a must.
• Ability to test software manually, performance/load and security testing.
• Solid technical skills with an ability to build automated testing tools using Visual Studio, HP QTP or other Test Script Languages (TSL).
• Ability to interact with change management, and all stakeholders as it impacts quality.
• Defect management process and test case creation and execution.
• Analytical abilities to troubleshoot and analyze test scenarios within the testing cycle
• 5-7 yrs Software Testing experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or combined within a Business degree specialization.
• Certificate and training within Quality Assurance or Software Testing preferred

• General office environment, comfortable with testing internally developed, 3rd party or operations test activities, able to travel to client sites, ability to work and communicate with clients, business and IT staff.
• This job operates in an office setting and is largely sedentary, requiring the routine use of a computer and other standard office equipment.  The ability to open file cabinets, lift files, bend and stand on a stool may also be required.
