K&L Gates is seeking a mid- to senior-level associate to join the Asset Management and Investment Funds practice in our Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have between 3 and 6 years of experience in the Asset Management or Investment Funds practice group of a top-tier law firm or in-house experience at an institutional asset manager. This large and diverse practice group works with registered funds, private funds, and institutional asset managers on a wide array of fund formation, transactional, and regulatory issues. The ideal candidate for the position will have experience with open- and closed-end mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and experience representing investment companies, investment advisers, and independent board members on matters arising under U.S. federal securities laws, particularly the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and their related rules and regulations. We are seeking candidates that have experience in one or more of these areas, and a desire to work with a team of experienced lawyers who will provide active mentoring and opportunities to assume increasing levels of responsibility on a variety of matters for premier global clients.
