The Compensation Analyst will research, analyze and recommend modifications to Firm compensation programs ensuring their effectiveness and alignment with Firm objectives. Assist with job documentation and evaluation to ensure compliance with regulations as well as ensuring internal equity and alignment to market comparisons. Act as a resource and subject matter expert in the configuration and execution of the annual merit and bonus process for both associates and allied professionals. Monitor compensation practices and trends through the use of third-party salary surveys, online publications and attending function specific webinars. Coordinate the full cycle of survey participation from registration to data submission; analyze results and identify and recommend potential changes to survey participation list. Advise managers and legal recruiting teams on salary recommendations for the retention of current employees and for potential candidate offers. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are strongly preferred. KEY RELATIONSHIPS ESSENTIAL DUTIES EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED ADDITIONAL ABILITIES REQUIRED Compensation Salary $79,000- $118,000/ year The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Director, Compensation, HR Business Partners, HRIS, other firm leadership
• Manage the annual merit and bonus process for allied professionals and associates ensuring fairness, equity and compliance with Firm policies and regulations; will be responsible for the configuration of systems through a partnership with HRIS and ensuring the process remains on schedule with the established timeline
• Conduct comprehensive salary analyses to ensure competitive compensation policies for both legal professionals as well as allied professionals globally through the participation and analysis of third party compensation surveys results
• Collaborate with HR and Firm leaders to design and implement effective compensation strategies aligned with Firm goals and objectives
• Evaluate market trends and benchmark data to provide insights and report on the competitive compensation practices happening in the legal industry
• Assist in the development and maintenance of accurate job descriptions and act as subject matter expert in the evaluation and leveling process to ensure fairness and consistency within the Firm
• Develop and document procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and work with HR Managers to educate and explain compensation programs through compelling and engaging content
• Conduct sophisticated analysis on compensation data to produce meaningful reports and presentations that can influence firm leader decision making
• Contribute to the drafting of HR frameworks and tools for recruitment, performance management, development, career and succession planning, compensation, diversity, employee onboarding and offboarding, and retention of talent
• Provide support throughout the planning and implementation of the merit compensation and bonus processes for associates and allied professional
• Stay abreast of changes in employment laws and regulations affecting compensation
• Partner with HRIS to provide compensation reporting and ensuring data is accurate
• Resolve compensation data requests through the use of available internal and external resources which contributes to parties making educated compensation decision
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent experience, preferably with law firm experience
• Three years of proven experience within compensation field, preferably with a law firm or legal services environment
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in compensation benchmarking tools and methodologies
• Detail oriented with a demonstrated ability managing multiple priorities in a changing and demanding environment
• Ability to analyze complex situations and develop workable, consistent and creative action plans
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders
• Experience with PeopleSoft and/or HRIS preferred
• Excellent skills using Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel
• Ability to function effectively in confidential situations, to maintain complete confidentiality, to utilize prudent judgment and to execute tactfully
• Provide self-direction to assure quality work
• Collaborate across functions and work effectively in a team setting
• Communicate effectively among varying levels of audiences
• Work in a desk position which requires a combination of sedentary and standing activities
• Use personal computer and associated software systems, telephone, photocopying and printer equipment
