The Senior Platform Engineer (Identity & Access Platform) manages and enhances the firm’s identity platform and related automation processes. Combining Identity and Access Management (IAM) expertise with senior systems engineering, the role develops secure, scalable, and resilient identity services using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). Responsibilities include developing identity services, automating joiner/mover/leaver workflows, integrating applications and infrastructure with enterprise identity, and implementing auditable access controls. All tasks align with firm standards and compliance requirements, ensuring robust identity and access solutions for the organization. Compensation Salary: $111,000 - $209,000 The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Director, Security and Information Governance; Director, Enterprise Operations; Data Governance/GRC; Infrastructure & Application Owners
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Engineering and optimizing the enterprise identity platform using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) to support secure authentication and authorization across cloud and on premises environments
• Designing modern identity controls including MFA, Conditional Access, SSO, federation, identity protection, and risk based access policies
• Delivering and maintaining secure identity integrations for SaaS and internally developed applications, ensuring consistent access patterns and configuration standards
• Building and managing automation first IAM lifecycle workflows covering joiner/mover/leaver processes, access approvals, entitlement changes, and access reviews
• Engineering integrations between identity platforms, authoritative data sources, and downstream systems to enable reliable provisioning, deprovisioning, and access governance
• Operating identity services as a production grade platform, including availability, performance, capacity management, incident response, root cause analysis, and effective change management
• Implementing observability and operational tooling such as logging, monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and runbooks for identity events, access changes, and platform health
• Standardizing and version controlling identity and access configurations using infrastructure as code and configuration as code practices with peer review and controlled releases
• Enforcing access governance and audit readiness by applying least privilege and RBAC principles, leading access reviews, remediations, and supporting audits and assessments
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of access control principles and account management requirements
• Demonstrate knowledge of governance and control frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001/42001, NIST 800-171) as they relate to access controls.
• Hold Security/Identity certifications (CISSP/CISM and/or Microsoft identity-focused credentials)
• Show proven success building automation for identity lifecycle and access processes
• Have 7+ years of experience in platform/systems engineering, IAM engineering, or security engineering in complex enterprise environments
• Demonstrate extensive hands on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) in production
• Demonstrate expertise in designing dependable services, including monitoring, incident response, change management, and operational efficiency
• Modernize identity and access management programs or evaluate identity-as-a-service and identity and access management solutions.
