We are seeking a Market Development Specialist (MDS) to join the Dallas or Houston office to support the Energy, Infrastructure, and Resources (EIR) practice area and the Texas market As a member of the Global Client Growth team, the MDS reports directly to the Market Development Manager or Director of Client Growth. The MDS will support and execute marketing and business development programs and initiatives for firmwide client growth teams, the EIR practice area and industry group, and the Texas region. The MDS will have significant interaction with leadership in the market development and client engagement teams, lawyers, office and practice managers and firm administration. Successful candidates will possess superior written and oral communications skills, project management abilities and will be able to implement strategic directives and coordinate marketing functions.  The MDS will see projects through from concept to delivery, sometimes with limited or no oversight from a manager. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are strongly preferred.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

•Assist Market Development Managers and other department leadership in driving and executing go-to-market strategy, pipeline development, sales enablement, and practice management initiatives for the EIR practice and industry group, and Texas region, including:
 oFor complex projects, campaigns, and events, lead engagement and coordination among Centers of Excellence (COE) and support teams including on RFPs, events, sponsorships, and other market-facing opportunities.
 oAssist Pitch & Proposal COE with creating proposal content, preparing RFP and pitch responses, creating presentations and maintaining practice qualifications for new business
 oAssist with market research to maintain a strong knowledge of assigned practice/industry group, including business trends and competitive landscape for legal services
 oIn connection with Market Development Managers and relevant COEs, develop and maintain experience capturing and reporting
 oIn connection with relevant COEs, and with a regular cadence, review collateral material and other market-facing materials to ensure they contain the most relevant information for clients and prospects.
 oCollaborate with Brand Marketing and Communications on external promotion e.g., creating a media plan, social media posts, press releases, website posting, and collateral production
 oServe as key contact for large-scale nationwide and global practice event sponsorships, assessing involvement to ensure full use of benefits and relationships, reviewing on an annual basis
 oWork collaboratively with Market Development Coordinators and oversee assigned tasks.
 oUndertake other projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications with 3 to 5 years of experience in a professional services organization or closely related corporate environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to write and produce compelling proposals, collateral, research reports and client-facing presentation materials.
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated service orientation.
• High level of maturity and confidence necessary to interact with sophisticated internal and external clients.
• Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet research tools essential.  Knowledge of InterAction® CRM software, a plus.
• Demonstrated good judgment, decision-making and follow-through capabilities.  Persistence coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent project management, organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines.
• Outstanding attention to detail, flexibility and creativity.
• Team player who is also self-motivated and can work independently with minimum supervision.

Working Conditions:
• Manual dexterity required for typing, reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment.
• Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time.
• Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
• Access information using a computer.
• Effectively manages and communicates confidential issues.
