The ideal candidate will have as many of these attributes as possible: • Attorney with 2-5 years of legal experience working on antitrust matters, preferably in private practice Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We are seeking a midlevel associate to join the Antitrust, Competition and Trade Regulation practice in our dynamic Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years’ experience working on antitrust matters, preferably in a law firm. Experience working at the Federal Trade Commission or Department of Justice is highly preferred but not necessary. The candidate will have a thorough understanding of federal antitrust laws and a substantive expertise working on antitrust merger and/or litigation matters. This position will require the candidate to primarily assist with HSR merger clearance matters before the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice Antitrust division. Experience handling Second Requests is highly valued.
• Previous experience at the Federal Trade Commission and/or Department of Justice, Antitrust Division a plus but not necessary
• Ability to work both independently and directly with clients
• Excellent writing and communications skills (both oral and written); able to adapt messaging to reflect variety of internal and external audiences
• Strong research, analytical, evaluative, and constructive thinking skills
• Results-focused; strong project management skills, with ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple projects while being thorough and detail-oriented.
