K&L Gates is currently accepting applications for our 2021 1L Diversity Power of Partnership Program in Pittsburgh. K&L Gates established our Power of Partnership Program as a way to further the goals of increasing engagement with our clients and offering outstanding learning experiences for law students. This program offers diverse 1L students the unique opportunity to work for part of the summer in a K&L Gates office as a summer associate and part of the summer in-house with the legal team of a corporate client of the firm. This year, our client, United States Steel Corporation, will partner with the firm and host a law student for part of the 2021 summer program. Candidates should have a strong interest in the office's practice areas, as well as the following major practice areas within the United States Steel Corporation law department: Litigation, Commercial, Securities, Intellectual Property, Real Estate, Regulatory and Compliance, Environmental, Labor and Employment, and Trade. They must also be a self-starter who possesses the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additionally, candidates must have superior academic credentials, excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as a commitment to providing the highest quality client service. Candidates will work closely with experienced lawyers who will provide active mentoring.
